HydroFoils and Lames

A foil is a solid metallic over print laminated onto a solid colour base -- hence the term Lamé. However, the base fabric can be different - polyester or nylon spandex used for stretch fabrics.
Foils tend to be difficult to work with, and when exposed to water can delaminate from the base. In spite of these issues, they continue to be popular in Syncro Swimming, as well as dance and skating costumes.
We have two types of foils: polyester and nylon spandex. The polyester foils tend to be thinner because the base is thinner, while the nylon foils tend to be heavier duty. Stretch varies greatly, most with only two way stretch at most.
